tax rate on 1st year employment income?

I have been offered a teaching job in Nagoya but I've read a lot of contradictory information about what my tax rate will be; the Japan tax calculator suggests 2% but other sites say as high as 20%. Can someone clarify please?
Relevant information ( hopefully!)
- This will be my first job in Japan, I'm not currently resident there.
- The income will be employment income, coming from Japan.
- I understand that health insurance, pension contributions and residence tax also have to be paid.
