Yaeyama / Okinawa in mid-late July

Hi
Went to Okinawa last May which was suprisingly hot. I think the temperature never dropped below 28 deg C.
Since mainland Japan is really warm in summer, what is Okinawa and Yaeyama islands like during that time?

It's closer to the equator and it's summer (aka Typhoon season) than the rest of Japan. I'll let you work out the rest
