Trekking up Mount Kitadake 2019/4/23 11:20
Hi
I am looking at trekking up Mount Kitadake, Ainodake and Notoridake in 3rd week of Oct this year.
Starting from Hirogawara trailhead and end at Narada trailhead.
Intend staying at: Shiraneoike Goya Hut, Kitadake Sanso Hut and Daimonsawa Hut.
My questions.

1. Will all the huts mentioned be open for guests during 3rd week of Oct?

1a. What will be the cost?

2. Is there a website that I can book the hut in English or anyone can help to make the booking?

3. What will be the expected high and low temp at the top of the mountain during 3rd week of Oct?

4. Will the bus service to and from the trailheads mentioned still be in operation on 3rd week of Oct?

5. Is it necessary to book a guide to take us up the mountain? What is the cost?

Any answers or lead most appreciated.
Thank you.

Maybe try contacting this person?

He has a pretty extensive website on hiking the mountains of Japan.

You don't need a guided tour but I did find this one:

http://www.kantoadventures.com/kita-dake-ai-no-dake-overnight-hike.htm...

It might be more convenient simply because you don't have to worry about booking anything and if there is snow they include crampons. In the past in late October based on some of the reports I read you can have 20 cm of snow, which is a lot more snow than I would want!

And OK this person https://randomwire.com/kitadake/ who hiked Kitadake finally gave working links to some of the huts!

Shiraneoike Mountin Hut:
http://shiraneoike.com/

This is Kitadake Sanso:
https://www.city.minami-alps.yamanashi.jp/sisetsu/shisetsu/kitadake-sa...

This is Katanokoya:
https://www.city.minami-alps.yamanashi.jp/docs/katanokoya.html
also here: http://katanokoya.com/

This link:
https://www.city.minami-alps.yamanashi.jp/docs/kitadake.html for official page of Minami Alps also has some information.

It looks like for most huts you need to call, so I would ask the concierge at your hotel before you travel to Kofu.

I hope using all those links you can figure out your hike! :D

And here is Daimonsawa Hut finally!

https://www.minamialps-net.jp/yamagoya/008_daimonzawa
http://www.daimonzawa.com/

Unfortunately, Daimonsawa, the only one that seems to accept reservations on-line closes in Mid October. The other huts appear to be open until November 3.

All of the links include prices for a bed with or without meals.

Thank you all very much for taking the trouble to post the helpful replies. I will go through all of the leads. As Daimonsawa is closed end Oct I will need to revise my trekking plans a bit.
