You can use PASMO in both area, but you can not do only these two in other card area. - Card return, refund deposit and charge(SF/stored fare). - Reissue due to card lost or damage. The method of charge and e-money for shopping mainly is the same, just card area change. http://www.manaca.jp/service/index.htmlNagoya: - TOICA (JR-Central) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TOICA- manaca (Meitetsu and more, not only for railway) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ManacaKyoto and Osaka: - ICOCA (JR-West) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ICOCA- PiTaPa (non JR group, rail and bus companies) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PiTaPaIn fact, it can be used in a few more card areas, but the range is narrow so you don't have to remember them all. The direction of the arrow written above the figure is important. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ICOCA#/media/File:ICCard_Connection_en.s...Also, this is a special case, but it can not be used beyond the area of the card. However, PiTaPa area covered fr Kintetsu-Nagoya stn, Nagoya is not Kyoto and Osaka area, but it can be used only for taking Kintetsu line, https://www.kintetsu.co.jp/foreign/english/about/station/route_map/other side near shinkansen track route is invaild, bc it will be over the card area. https://www.yororailway.co.jp/img/kouiki-rosenz.jpg
