Rakuten reservation mail question

Hi, I often use the Japanese version of Rakuten Travel to make hotel reservations in Japan.
However, I recently got a reservation mail where it states below the total rate in red text:
"現地でのカードのご利用はできません。ご注意ください。"
Google translates it to "The card can not be used locally. Please be careful."
I am not really sure of the true meaning, as I do not rely on Google fully. Does it mean the reservation is not valid because they cannot validate my card or will I have to use cash to pay the reservation?

It means you cannot pay by card at check-in. You can pay by card in advance on the Rakuten website, or cash at check-in.
