Mt Fuji climb early Aug/late July?

Hi,
Been looking at huts to reserve online for hiking mt Fuji. Will be in Japan from mid July-mid August, leaving in the middle of the Obon week.
I was thinking of hiking mt Fuji in the month gap around 30th July - 3rd Aug but seems very popular.
So I will need to aim for sometime before 30th or after 3rd Aug. Is it any difference in when I climb considering this?
Thinking of weather stability, crowdedness, chance of finding last minute hut bed, etc...
