Fukuoka airport to Miyazaki (air or train) 2019/5/24 22:02
Hi.
1. Please advise which train goes to miyazaki from fukuoka airport? We arrive Monday morning with 4 adults & 4 luggages . Was told the luggages will be troublesome on train rides
2. What is this codeshare flights? Is it a discounted fare? Like to know more about it. Alternatively may consider flying to Miyazaki.
Thks

No train from Fukuoka Airport to Miyazaki.

No issue with luggage on trains.

Subway to Hakata station. Shinkansen to Kagoshima-Chuo. Ltd exp to Miyazaki.

If you have the option to fly direct into Miyazaki. Do it and save 5-6 hours of train ride.

Itfs not a discounted fare in general but obviously also on codeshare flights you can have good offers.

Enjoy your trip to Kyushu!

You zlso have buses from Fukuoka (not from the airport sadly) to Miyazaki. It takes about as long as the train, but it's much cheaper.

Miyazaki is a big prefecture. If your destination is anywhere near Miyazaki Airport, then you should fly from Fukuoka Airport to Miyazaki Airport - it's around Y10,000, and it's a 40-minute flight vs. 4 hours on the train (and Y7,000 train fare).

If you're going to the northern part of Miyazaki (e.g. Nobeoka), it's not so clear-cut. In that case flying won't save you as much time (since the destination is far from Miyazaki Airport), and you might prefer the scenic train ride.

Take a look at Google Maps to figure out where in Miyazaki Prefecture you're going, and check out the different routes - you can use the airplane icon for plane information.

Both Fukuoka & Miyazaki are blessed with airports that are extremely close to the city centers, and unless you're going far from there, flying is a good option to consider. You don't say where you're actually starting from - like Tokyo or flying to Fukuoka directly from your home country.
To give you more info, you can go by rail from Fukuoka Airport to Miyazaki, but you need to take the subway from the airport to Hakata Stn (5 minutes). That said, the whole trip to Miyazaki is nearly 4 hours - and I'd sure fly if I could. There are 2 flights on ANA you could take, a late morning one or early evening one, and the flight is just 45 minutes. You should be able to use ANA's Experience Japan Fare.

As for luggage, you could take it with you, or send it by a luggage forwarding service if you like.

If you have the chance to see Fukuoka, by all means do so. The Nanzoin Temple is one of Japan's best, yet still nearly unknown. There are many good gardens, food and shopping to see.

For Miyazaki, a car might serve you better, depending where you're going.
