Naruko gorge late november

I want to see the autumn colors in Tohuku and mainly Naruko gorge.
I am aware that Naruko gorge will have its peak some where around the first week of November.
But I just want some experience feedback on whether the colors will still be worth visiting when its late november (ie. last week of November)?
What about any parts of Tohuku that is still worth visiting?

You cannot predict the timing of the autumn colors more than about 1-2 months in advance! Depending on the year, the timing varies by up to +/- two weeks. In other words, the best timing for Naruko will remain unknown until around September at the earliest. In the average year, the gorge is best around late October to early November.

In the average year, it won't be worth going anymore in the last week of November. The worthwihle time to see autumn colors is usually 2-4 weeks. Strong winds can cut it short. Also what is "worthwhile" can depend widely on the individual. For tourists with very high expectations, the "worthwhile" timing may only last around one week.

What about any parts of Tohuku that is still worth visiting?

Some of the cities, such as Sendai, may still have some colors, but late November is usually too late for the autumn colors in the Tohoku Region. See the basics here:

Yamadera Temple (Risshakuji) is nice too. However colours peak early November too but still worth a visit at other times

I will have to either go at that period if not visit somewhere else for the autumn.
