Traveling from Osaka to Nagoya 2019/6/2 08:51
We are traveling from Osaka Universal Studios to the Nagoya Intl airport in a couple of weeks. It looks like going by train is the best way and would like to stop off for the afternoon in Kyoto. Does that require a special pass or is the ticket good for in and out the station there? I am also looking for a website to buy the tickets beforehand if possible. All I can find for that is the Rail Pass and we just need a one way- one day ticket. Thank you.

You should purchase a base fare ticket from Osaka to Nagoya.
Also, if you use the shinkansen (which I recommend at least on the section between Kyoto and Nagoya), then you need to also purchase a supplement ticket for each ride on the shinkansen.

Separate tickets are needed for the sections between the Universal Studios and Osaka and between Nagoya and the airport.

Fares are based on distance, no need for a pass. Buy when you arrive or on the day. Thousands of other people do that every day.
