Change of citizenship

My niece is a Filipino she stay in Japan for almost 20 yrs she requested for a change of nationality from Filipino to Japanese citizenship recently they grant her request and got her new Japanese passport shefs now a Japanese nationality
She want to know what would be the next procedure does she need to go to Philippine Embassy and surrender her old Philippine passport? What would be the documents that she needs to submit in the Philippine Embassy ?

Immigration does not handle citizenship issues.
