Hakone Pirate Ship 1st class ticket

We will have the Hakone Free Pass but interested to buy the 1st class ticket on the Pirate Ship. My question is can we buy the 1st class earlier as in when we arrive at the port then go for lunch or sightseeing? Or it is only sold for the next sailing? It will be good if we can purchase earlier then just return to board the ship..

My understanding is that it is sold on the boat. I've never felt the need to buy the 1st class ticket.

Oh.. So if there is a Long queue to board the boat, we stuck with the queue? 😂

Answers the first time you asked.

You do not have to join the queue (usually huge) until shortly before the boat leaves. Getting a few hundred people on the boats is pretty quick (a few minutes). If you want to stand in the queue, feel free to do so - I never do.
