Umenoki Todoro Park suspension bridge 2019/7/29 13:39
I plan to be in the Kumamoto area in early November and wish to experience walking on the Umenoki Todoro Park's suspension bridge to view the fall foliage. I haven't been able to find information on available train and/or bus service to the bridge. If anyone knows how to get there and back, please tell me. Thank you.

The buses are timed to get workers out in the morning and back in the evening so you need to rent a car or hire a taxi. Most people hire taxis for the day to get into the area and besides Umenokidokoro Bridge and falls, they also take in Sendantodoro Falls and the old Heike refuge of Momigi. There are a few minshuku in the area that you can combine with a tour, also.

The Japanese always ask me why I go there. If you get there, you'll see.

Thank you Anaguma for the information you provided. I may end up renting a taxi for the day to see the sights you mentioned. Thank you again.
