Samurai Towns in Kagoshima (Iriki)

Hi All, Sorry about the slow drip of very specific posts. At present, I have already visited Izumi in Kagoshima and also plan to visit Chiran in January. In my research I found a place called Iriki-Fumoto near Satsumasendai that has three residences https://www.kagoshima-kankou.com/s/for/attractions/10439Very little information on this town seems to be present. Just wanted to know if anyone has been here - or knows anything about it apart from the basics? One of the things I like to do is find less seen tourist towns but this one seems to be a bit of an enigma...

I believe in the same area is a samuri suit maker. It was the first stop from Sendai station on the Orange Hisatsu Railway. I'll see if I can dig up more info later.

Do you mean Yoroi? If it is, it's already on the list. Looks reasonably interesting...

Iriki has a few old buildings but that's about it. I think it took us about 2 hours to see most of what's there and read about the local samurai using dogs as archery targets as some sort of competition. The town's claim to fame is a house structure that is found only in Iriki. A kura has been converted into a small museum. Masuda House: https://www.flickr.com/photos/anaguma/14799481305

The samurai armor/suit replica maker that I know is in Kami-Sendai way down by the port (ە). They make 80% of the suits used in movies. http://yoroi.co.jp/

Thanks for the info. I noticed that the location mentioned by two people was a fair drive but it will be good to see rural Japan for the last time. This will be my last day in Japan - period. My plan for the day is the following:
Iriki Local Museum Fumoto Residence Masuda Residence Satsuma Student Museum Kyuden Nuclear Museum Armor Replica
I'll pick up a car from Tosu station and drop it off later in the day.
I've basically got 1 full day between Kagoshima and Fukuoka to fill up. I'm looking for a town with good transport links to the Shinkansen where I can visit some new stuff in Kyushu. I've just counted 56 posts I'm made of Kyushu - not including the upcoming 3 week trip (with 2 weeks in Kyushu!)
