Immigration with Japan ITEE Exam w/ NO degree

Hello!
I am an engineer looking to move from the US to Japan. I have an offer in-hand from a company to be a software engineer.
I do not have a college degree and I am a couple years away from the 10 years experience.
I saw that if I take the ITEE Exam then that can count for the college degree. Does anyone know if it can be the IP (easiest/fastest option) or does it have to the FE or AP?
I am NOT trying to get the highly skilled professional visa just the engineering visa. Because of that I don't think maybe the IP will work.
