Emperor Enthronement Ceremony - October 22 2019/8/6 19:22
Hello,
On October 22nd Japan celebrates the Emperor's Enthronement Ceremony. I understand this is considered a public holiday, does anyone know how it affects tourist attractions, shops, etc in Tokyo?

Same as all other public holidays, which is a topic that comes up often. Do a search.

will there be any ceremonies in Kyoto? I know the Jidai Matsuri was put off until the 26th. Will there be anything going on ?

Events in Kyoto - there are a few websites around with "what's on" lists like https://www.discoverkyoto.com/event-calendar/october/

As the Enthronement Ceremony is a Tokyo event they might have problems justifying something in Kyoto or any other city for that matter. My understanding is that other than a parade there will be little to see (might be some on tv).
