Autumn hikes late November 2019/8/27 21:44
Hello everyone,

Planning my first trip to Japan and this website and forum has been completely invaluable! I was wondering if anyone has recommendations for good hikes to see autumn colours in late November?

We're both healthy and happy to do something a little strenuous, however a day trip from a town so we can leave our bags would be best.

I'd like to get somewhere quite remote if possible - we've got some flexibility in our schedule / location but somewhere between Tokyo and Naoshima would be ideal. So far our pencilled in plan is:
Tokyo > Kyoto > Naoshima > ? Hiking destination ? > Tokyo

We were originally thinking Kiso Valley but heard some unenthusiastic things about how busy it gets.

Thanks in advance!

How about this trail, as it has good access and not touristy.
