Japan visa under maiden name

My wife recently renewed her passport and changed her name (married name) as well. But her old passport has the multiple visa (expiring 2022) under her maiden name. Can we still use it? Anyone here have done the same?

I have been told and read old posts that you can still use the old visa provided that you supply it with your marriage certificate. Also, during visa application, she indicated her married name as other known names by.

Any help and feedback is much appreciated.

I had the same issue, getting conflicting answers on the internet. So, for my peace, I phoned the embassy here in Manila. The lady told me that I NEEDED TO APPLY FOR A NEW VISA WITH MY MARRIED NAME AS NAMES ON PASSPORT, VISA AND TICKET SHOULD BE ABSOLUTELY THE SAME. I hope this helps.
