Hakone Romancecar and Hakone Pree pass

Hi all,
If i were to book the romance car (Shinjuku to Hakone-Yumoto) online 1 month in advance, do i have to buy the Hakone free passes first? Or should i purchase this Romancecar online in order to secure the Panorama view seats and then purchase the Discount passes when i reach Tokyo? Is there any other way i can purchase the free pass online?
