Hi everyone,
Ifm planning to have a side-trip from Tokyo to Nikko on October 28 (Monday) or October 29 (Tuesday) for autumn foilage. In Nikko, I intend to visit the area of Okunikko (lake chuzenji, kegon waterfalls etc.) using public transportation (bus). I also plan to take the first train from Tobu-Asakusa Station at 6:30am in order to arrive at Tobu-Nikko station early and visit the sites in the morning. I have read some reviews and most of them say to avoid going to lake chuzenji during the autumn season because of traffic along Irohazaka Road could take 3 hours.
Now I ask if going to Okunikko area on a weekday morning would save me from the traffic or crowds or should I instead visit other places instead like Karuizawa or Fuji Five Lakes for autumn foliage.
Thank you.
