Is such a trailer considered a vehicle? 2019/9/13 15:18
Hi
I was wondering if such a trailer is considered a vehicle (without the front car towing it), and needs to be registered as a car, and hence subject to all the taxes and rules and regulations of owning a car in Japan.

Here's a picture of the trailer I have in mind.

Can I just buy this trailer and park it in my yard in Japan? I mean, it's not going anywhere. Is there any rules and regulations against it?

For one thing, it's cheaper than building a home and it's portable if I wanna move.

Thank you.

To move it around you would need it registered just like any other country in the world.

I roughly looked through the Japan Trailer House Association website, but couldn't find a straightforward answer on what you need to pay to keep it parked forever. Perhaps you should ask them.

Thanks Hakata14 and especially Uco, that was a very useful link. Didn't know there was such an association.
