Shinmoedake/Asodake Off Limits

Hi,
As part of our 4 weeks in Kyushu, we have planned to travel between Kagoshima and Fukuoka with stops in Miyazaki, Aso area and Kurokawa Onsen.
We have 6 full days, arriving in Fukuoka at the end of the 6th day.
Original idea was something like this...
Day 21 - Kagoshima/Sakurajima
Day 22 - Kirishima or Satsuma Peninsula
Day 23 - Miyazaki Coast
Day 24 - Takachiho Gorge
Day 25 - Mount Aso Hike
Day 26 - Onsen laziness
However, I've read that Asodake and Shinmoedake are both currently off limits so wonder if we should stick with this plan or change things around. We'd like to do a couple of hikes of especially stunning scenery and would appreciate any advice or suggestions.
For context, the whole trip is
Day 1 : Fukuoka
Day 2 : Fukuoka
Day 3 : Kumamoto
Day 4 - 5 :Shimabara Peninsula
Day 6 - 8 : Nagasaki
Day 9 - 10 : Saga/Karatsu
Day 11 : Saga/Hitoyoshi
Day 12 : Hitoyoshi
Day 13 - 15 : Yakushima
Day 16 : Yakushima/Travel
Day 17 - 20 : Amami Oshima
Day 21 - Kagoshima/Sakurajima
Day 22 - Kirishima or Satsuma Peninsula
Day 23 - Miyazaki Coast
Day 24 - Takachiho Gorge
Day 25 - Mount Aso Hike
Day 26 - Kurokawa Onsen
Day 27 - Fukuoka
Day 28 : Leave
