I'm due to bring my whisky collection into the Japan and I would like to understand what are the requirements, taxes and duties that I will need to pay.
Does anyone know what would be the process and average taxes to bring 30 bottles of scotch whisky into Japan?

Sell some off so avoiding duties and you can begin a sake collection instead.

I'll definitely be building a sake collection too. :)
I'm just keen to understand how are the duties calculated as the information in the customs website only highlights the cost for Liquor tax and not the duties tax.
Has anyone gone through this process before?

I wouldn't build a sake collection. Old sake is normally awful. It's not like wine or decent whiskey.
