Takayama - Hokuriku Tourist Pass

We are a group of 9 pax going to Nagoya in Jan 2020.

Understand from the JR Pass website, the JR Takayama-Hokuriku Tourist Pass will allow us to take the following transportation within Nagoya - Takayama - Shirakawago - Kananzawa - Gero Onsen and back to Nagoya.

- Unlimited use of JR limited express and local trains between Nagoya, Takayama and Toyama.
- Unlimited use of the JR Hokuriku Shinkansen between Kanazawa and Toyama.
- Unlimited use of buses between Takayama, Toyama and Kanazawa.
- Unlimited use of buses between Takaoka, Gokayama and Shirakawago.
- Pass holders can make up to four seat reservations on limited express trains for free (not including shinkansen and Haruka limited express trains to/from Kansai Airport on which the pass is only valid for unreserved seats).

Day 1: From Chubu Airport to Takayama Station.

Understand that we need to buy meitetsu usky train to meitetsu-nagoya station to take bus to Takayama Station.
We would like to check if this 5days pass is able to use it on the bus service from meitetsu --nagoya bus center to takayama bus terminal please? If so, how do we make the reservation please? Email or call? Do we email to them after we purchase the 5days pass voucher in Singapore and show the receipt in the email for the reservation?


Day 2: From Takayama to Shirakawago to Kanazawa

With this 5days pass, how do we reserve the bus services from takayama to shirakawago please? I think we are not able to reserve it online. Are we able to reserve it via email please and showing this JR Takayama-Hokuriku Tourist Pass when we arrive at the takayama bus terminal?

In addition, when we need to travel from Shirakawago to Kanazawa, can we take the same bus? Do we need to reserve separately the journey from Shirakawago to Kanazawa as well?


Day 3: From Kanazawa to Gero Onsen via Toyama

With this 5days pass, we will be able to use the JR Hokuriku Shinkansen to travel to Toyama then later take JR Hida limited express to Gero Station, right? Please advise.
In addition, do you have the schedule link or which app should we use to check on the timing of the JR please?

Day 4: From Gero Onsen to Nagoya

With this 5days pass, we will be able to take JR Hida Limited express to Nagoya Station, right? Please advise.

Others:
Child ticket is from 6 to 11years old. Do you consider by birth date or by year? E.g. If the child birth date is 21 April 2008, what is consider her age as of Jan 2020 please? 11 years or 12 years? Children with the age 12 years and above will be considered as adult price?

Day 1: You should be taking the limited express train to Takayama from Nagoya Station, the pass doesn't cover bus service for Nagoya to Takayama.

Day 2: I don't think can email to make reservation, either call or at bus station, for your case i think safer to make reservation on Day 1 when you reach Takayama.

Shirakawago to Kanazawa needs a separate reservation, do it together on the 1st day.

Day 3: Use HyperDia or google maps. On a side note, i think you should spend a additional day at Kanazawa.

Day 4: Yes, take the JR Hida limited express train.
