50,000 yen daily? 2019/10/3 06:53
Hi there,

Me and my girlfriend have been saving for a while and we have started booking things such as flights and hotels and Disney Land as well as money has been placed aside for a rail pass and travel insurance.

After this we will have 50,000 yen a day - over our 21 days to spend ( food, activities and shopping) and is this enough ? We donft plan to eat at any mitchellin star restaurant but we are definitely the type of people that have a lot to see and enjoy fun activities, so we would probably spend quite a bit of money and time on attractions.

Thank you :)

50,000 yen a day

1050000~, yep, that's ample for 21 days. We normally spent average 20000~ for the 2 of us per day .

So you'e saying your budget will allow you to spend 50,000 yen on food, shopping, and entertainment every day for three solid weeks? Yeah I'd say that's definitely enough. Japan is sort of an expensive country, but it's not so expensive that 50,000 yen a day for fun spending is anything close to a tight budget.

That's about $500 US per day. I'd say that's plenty.

I'm honestly not sure how you would spend that much money every single day unless you tried really hard. Food and Activities are maybe even a bit cheaper than in the USA and EU.

I think 50000 yen per day is even more than enough if you had to include lodging and airfare in that number.

When I was in Japan 2 years ago with my wife, we used around 25 000 JPY per day for hotels, food, entrance fees, souvenirs (everything apart from JR Pass & plane tickets). We weren't getting cheapest options, nor most expensive. This time we are planning to take around 35 000 JPY per day since we are willing to visit some more expensive attractions. So 50 000 JPY per day should be more than enough ;)

I have just got back from Japan and while I know I don't spend a lot I was surprised that my average spend was 6000 yen a day!! I budget for 10000 a day. You have more than enough

I recently went to Osaka for 4 days, and used around half of that amount. You'll be alright, seriously.

You may not plan to eat at any Michelin star restaurant, but you probably could every day with that budget.

Way too much.
You can do accommodation, transport, entry fees, eat well and shopping for that.
Japan accommodation/hotels can be expensive, but a lot of other things are not. It is actually not as expensive a country as many people think.
