Any sector of route closed in winter in Feb? 2019/10/5 00:03
Hello,
I will travel in Feb by car from Tokyo Shinjuku West to Utsunomiya-Higashiyama Onsen- AIzauwakamatzu-Ginzan Onsen-Sendai-Iwaki-Hitachi- Mito-Narita Airport.

Can anyone tell me if any sector of the route will be closed in winter?

Thank you in advance.

I used to drive all over Japan many times over the years and prefer driving stopping wherever and whenever I want but has never drove in winter!
As there are many places I want to stop as you can see, I presume driving will still be the best!
However perhaps you have better suggestions by JR Pass?
Thank you

Thank you for the alert! I think driving in any countries during winter will have to be careful
and not speeding. With snow tyres ad the Japanese efficient highway authority the roads are always cleared during snowing.. The thawed icy road surely poses danger as always!
When driving on the road there is always need to be alert careful and drive cautiously... by listening to the laugh in the video, it seems to be clips for fun you tuber..
Anyway appreciated!
It would be nice if someone can advise if any sectors of the road are closed!
Thank you

None of the major roads along your route will be closed in winter.
