Nikko post Hagibis 2019/10/17 09:10
Hi

Planning on travelling to Nikko next week but am a bit concerned about what I might find after Hagibis - has anyone been there since/able to say how things are up there? Is it worth the trip?

Thanks

Tom

I hope you enjoy your trip.

Planning on travelling to Nikko next week

Probably the Tobu Nikko Line will be still partly interrupted.

From Tokyo Station or Ueno Station,
you can travel
by the JR Tohoku Shinkansen until Utsunomiya
then by the JR Nikko Line to Nikko Station.

The Tobu Kinugawa Line,
which connects Shimo-imaichi and Shin-fujiwara,
and the Tobu Nikko Line's section
between Tobu-nikko and Shimo-imaichi,
seem unaffected by this typhoon.

Tobu Nikko Bus lines are available.

Regarding JR TOKYO Wide Pass,
which is for foreign passengers only:

- JR-East

Where exactly is your starting point?
(What station is nearby?)
Would you visit Lake Chuzenji area and/or Kinugawa Onsen?
