Icoca and Haruka Card Validity 2019/10/17 22:22
Hello all,

I'm travelling to Osaka on Nov 19 and leave on Nov 28. On Nov 28, I'll be travelling from Kyoto back to KIX. That being said, I plan to buy the ICOCA and HARUKA CARD one way only (Kyoto to KIX) on Nov 19 when I arrive at KIX. My questions are:
1. Will my one way haruka card still be valid on Nov 28 if I purchase it on Nov 19?
2. Do I still need to pay the limited express fare in Kyoto station?

ICOCA(IC card) has no validity period.
You can use it from the day you bought it, but you can't use it unless you recharge your SF.
ICOCA is valid for as long as 10 years from the last use date.
(SF : stored fare, but calling "charge" usual)

Since Haruka ticket only purchases by specifying a date, the validity period does not matter.

Don't lose it, anyway.
