Change from tourist visa into dependant visa 2019/12/4 15:02
Hello, I'm a post-doc researcher with a 2.5-years VISA and a residence card.
My wife will come to JP with a tourist VISA and I would like to know if:

1) we can apply for a CEO here in JP (while she has a 90-days tourist VISA)
2) is it true that when we apply for CEO we got a 2-month extension of tourist VISA (no matter the result, it would be 90+60 days)
3) in case of positive response, to get the dependant VISA she must go back to the Italian Embassy

Thank you very much

1. Yes.

2. No, that's if you apply for a change of status (and it is really two months, not 60 days).

3. Yes, or maybe a Japanese embassy in some other country like Korea will agree to take her visa application (no guarantee here).
