If you need plastic bag u should ask fukoro onagaishimus if you don't need u just say fukoro iranai des or fukoro ee des.

Maddy simply wasn't using romaji, that's all.
When you want a bag, say, ふくろ、おねがいします。
When you don't need any bags, say, ふくろ、いりません。 or ふくろ、いいです。
Copy and past the above Japanese phrases on your favorite pronunciation app to learn how to say them.
