Should I stay in Fuji one night? 2019/12/16 17:56
I plan my trip in spring 2020 from Tokyo-Kyoto-Osaka. I was going to do a day tour to Mt Fuji when I am in Tokyo but a friend who travels to Japan many times suggested for me to stay one night in Fuji then head to Kyoto the next day. I have already been to Tokyo years ago so I thought I will cut my stay short in Tokyo than just go as he suggested. Is it worth it to stay one night there? But if not, Should I stop over in Mt Fuji when I am my way to Kyoto? Will 3-4 hours be enough in Fuji? But where do I leave the luggage.? Or should I go back to my original plan which is a day tour and back to Tokyo? This seems complicated so any suggestion would help in my decision. Thanks.

If you mean Fuji city you can stop and enjoy the view, for climbing in December it is not recommended unless you have experience. Because of the cold and snow.

So what are your plans at Mt. Fuji? To look at it? To visit a few shrines? Fuji Q Park?

I think how much time you need there depends on your goal. A lot of people like staying overnight at popular tourist destinations because they are much quieter once tourists leave. So for example, Nara is very different in the evening.

If your goal is to climb Mt. Fuji, it is still closed to climbing in March. Official season won't open unti
