Hello. My name is Dominik and I was wondering if it sounds funny in Japanese since it should be written like ドミニク and niku means meat... just wondering... Thanks.

No, it does not sound funny. Dominique/Dominik is a well-known European name in Japan. You could write it as ドミニック IF the “niku” part still bothers you… that is just an alternative way to write it.

Every language has lots of words that have other unrelated words within them. Most people don’t even notice it, though. I wouldn’t worry about it.
