Japanese shower problem 2020/1/7 09:48
I live in a modern Japanese apartment and there is this cover over the light inside of the shower that sticks out from the wall. I can't seem to get the cover off and it seems like some kind of adhesive that keeps it attached to the wall. I tried to twist or pull it, but it doesn't seem to come off. Does anyone have experience on how to take the cover off and replace the bulb inside? I don't want to damage the structure of the light case.

You'd have to ask the janitor/landlord/estate agent about that... or at least post a photo of it on a free photo-sharing website and post the link here, so that we'd get an idea of what you mean?

Waterproofing. Stops water getting in. If you break that seal to replace the globe. You need to replace it.

True. I was just taking a shot to see if anyone knew. It's just one of those lights that are mounted to the wall and I just don't know how to unscrew it or remove the cover. I'll try to figure it out.

If you mean this type, this one says it's a screw-on type, it's just that the rubber sealing between the wall and the cover can get stuck over time. People on this local question forum recommends putting on rubber gloves (so that you can grab the cover firmly) and turning it anti-clockwise.

I actually figured it out and the cover was screwed on so tightly that it didn't seem like you had to do it that way. Thanks for your help and feedback guys!
