I'm visiting Tokyo in a few weeks (from Taiwan). It'd be a great help to hear from anyone who knows... a) if Region-Free DVD Players are available, b) which (reliable) brand I might purchase and... c) where the best place is to buy one. Thanks in advance.

Last DVD player I had was "locked", but a google search pointed me to the sub-menu to turn off the "lock". Then region free. Haven't needed a DVD player for years so if that still applies, uncertain.

Hi!
I bought a Region-Free player in Akihabara.... but I also bought it in 2001 or 2002. I had just gone to one of the big electronic stores like Yodoyabashi or Laox. It lasted for many years until I got a BluRay player.
Good luck!

Thanks. I know such "retro" equipment is unlikely to be around...but I'm hopeful, all the same!
