Renting with Pitat House 2020/1/12 12:40
Hello everyone. My husband (a Japanese) and I are about to rent a house with Pitat House. When we decided to agree on the rent, they said we had to pay an extra 1000yen every month for "rent assistance". This is somehow compulsory and we can't opt out of it. Does anyone else have a similar arrangement? Is it any good/useful?

Please ask them what it is exactly. Often we are quoted with the rent PLUS administrative charges (for the landlord to do some janitor-like services), which is in the range of several thousand yen per month. Usually they tell you the amount upfront. "Kanri-hi" is what they call it. If that's what it is, right, you can't get out of it, though the amount varies from property to property, and 1,000 yen sounds low for that.
