Kyoto to Amanohashidate and Ine Village 2020/1/14 07:27
Hi there, we will be travelling from Kurashiki and trying to work out if we can travel to Amanohashidate or Ine and stay 1 night before travelling to Kyoto or shold we stay in Kyoto and do a day trip here? We would like to see Ine village and Amanohashidate sand bar etc.
We have 4 nights in total and will then be travelling onwards to Koyasan/Nara
Thank you

Coming from Kurashiki, i think staying at Kyoto and do it as a daytrip to Amanohashidate could be a better option. Though you might have to do it on the following day instead of the same day you reach Kyoto as the travelling take quite some time. Take the 7.32am train so you can have more time exploring the 2 places.

Kurashiki to Amanohashidate takes 4+ hours. If you are staying in Amanohashidate, then it may be OK.

Kyoto to Amanohashidate is about half of that, so a day trip is doable (I have done it). I rented a bicycle to cross the sand bar (it is walk-able but takes longer, obviously), took a bus to Ine, rode the Ine Bay cruise boat (highly recommended).
