Hi, i am holding Takayama Hokuriku Area Tourist Pass and just wonder would i be able to use this pass to travel from Nagoya to Kyoto? If this pass cant be used, may i know what's the cheap yet not too slow route from Nagoya to Kyoto?Thanks.

Yes, but via Toyama/Kanazawa. It is pretty clear on the coverage map that the direct train link is not covered.

If you don't use the pass:
-Shinkansen takes about 35 minutes (Kodama takes longer) but will cost 5170 yen for the non-reserved seats.
-Regular Trains (Tokaido Main Line) will take about 2.5 hours and cost 2640 yen.
-Buses take about 2.5 hours if there are no traffic delays and seems to cost as little as 830 yen but prices can go up if you purchase on the same day, holidays, etc.
