Takayama in late November

Hi all,

I am planning to visit Japan starting in the second week of November as planned below:

Fuji Five Lakes-Hakone-Tokyo-Kansai-Takayama-Tokyo.

I can't find much information about Takayama's foliage in late November. Do you think it will pass the peak by then? Is it worthy to go to Takayama in late November?

Hi, Takayama gets colour in very early November. If you are chasing colour I would be looking elsewhere in late November. That said, Takayama is worth visiting anyway, it is one of my favorite towns.

My pleasure. If you are looking for somewhere else likely with colour, Shuzenji (near Atami) is a very pleasant town especially if you like onsens. It is also pretty handy to the main shinkansen line.

Takayama and elevations - I agree, early November rather than later in the month.
