Kyoto, Kifune - Meal / Drink over river bed

We came across these really breezy experience one can have eating meal or having a drink over river that we want to have as well.
We are open to stay overnight with lodging or making it a day trip from Kyoto to Kifune ( or if there are other alternatives place for similar experience of being over water having your meal and drink )

Few key questions we want your help on;
- We have a young child below two years - are they allowed on deck under our supervision for safety standpoint?
- Are there any vegetarians meals on offer by any of these many restaurants or any recommendations to ask for when requesting reservation - We saw HiroBun is very popular and with no reservation wait time can be up to two hours.

But would you really wanna take a toddler to this place if it means they could end up in the creek every 5 seconds. Doesnt seem like an enjoyable eating experience for the parents.
