Cherry blossom events Kyoto 2020/3/13 19:50
Hello,

I planned on going to Japan in April this year.
I read somewhere that the illumination in the Marayuma Park is cancelled. Does this mean that there won't be any food stalls or is only the illumination ?
And what about Kodai-ji ? On their website nothing about cancellation but it's I guess there is a big chance that will be cancelled too, no ?

Thank you
Kind regards

There will be no stands, no open-air restaurants and no illumination.

And what about Kodai-ji ?

As of now, the illumination event is being held, but depending on the further developments regarding the virus and the response of local authorities, there is a chance that it will be discontinued before its intended ending date. Likewise, the illumination events at Kiyomizudera, Nijojo, Shorenin and Okazaki Canal among others have not been cancelled yet.
