Confused about this exchange

Saw this in a story and I'm confused.
A: *grabs water* 一本もらうよ.
B: 何勝手な事言ってんの。
Why did B say 言ってん instead of して? Appreciate any help!

What B means is something like "Can't you at least ask?" because what A is saying is, "Hey, I'm going to help myself to one of these." instead of "Hey, can I help myself to one of these?"
