Are JR pass accepted in Tokaido Shinkansen? 2020/7/14 01:32
I have a question releted to JR pass. So please help me...CAN I USE JR PASS IN TRAVELLING FROM TOKYO TO OSAKA BY TOKAIDO SHINKANSEN???OR CAN I USE JR PASS IN TOKAIDO SHINKANSEN???

Yes, they are accepted on Hikari and Kodama trains, but they are not accepted on Nozomi trains.

Sure, you can! The Tokaido Shinkansen Line is included on the JRailPass!

Just take into account that are three types of trains that operate in this line and one of them is not included on the JRailPass: the Nozomi Shinkansen. But the other two are totally included: Hikari Shinkansen and Kodama Shinkansen.

As stated previously, yes. However, if just going Tokyo-Kansai round trip for a week or less, the JR Flex Rail Ticket comes out cheaper. Plus you can take the Nozomi trains with it.

You need to consider your entire itinerary. If going beyond there, like taking a day trip or overnight to Hiroshima, or going/returning via Kanazawa (a very nice city) etc then it may make more sense for the JR Pass.
But if just going Tokyo-Kansai for more then 7 days round trip, the 14-day pass for such a short itinerary would be a terrible waste of money.
