They would want Japanese written and vocal skilled to be of a native level due to this being a medical job.

Any reason for not asking in a Japanese lamguage forum?

This is the page explaining the procedure for those who graduated from a veterinarian course outside Japan or those licensed as a veterinarian outside Japan, and wish to sit for the national veterinarian exam for Japan.

As mentioned by H, extremely high Japanese reading/writing/speaking skills would definitely be something you'd need. It's the medical field, so language hiccups and miscommunications that aren't such a big deal for other jobs are going to pretty much be deal-breakers.

Also Japan has its own system of testing/licensing for veterinarians. Even if you are licensed vet in India, it's unlikely that your qualification will automatically be carried over and allow you to work in Japan, so you will likely need to complete the Japanese certification process, either in whole or in part.

Who do you mean by "they?" There's no central recruiting office in Japan that recruits veterinarians and then assigns them to individual job postings.

If you mean "Do Japanese veterinarian clinics regularly recruit people who are living in India to move to Japan and work as veterinarians?" the answer is no, that's not something most of them usually do. Japan has a pretty developed educational system and pet care industry, so there are many Japanese people who study in Japan to become veterinarians. Veterinarian clinics can generally hire all the veterinarians they need to locally (i.e. within Japan), without having to worry about language barriers, international relocation assistance, visa processing, etc.

If, on the other hand, your question is "Do Japanese veterinarian clinics hire many people who are living in Japan and of Indian ethnicity?" the answer to that is also no, but for a different reason. Up until this point in history, there haven't been many Indian people (or non-Japanese people in general) living in Japan who have the skills required to work as veterinarians (including the ability to read/write/speak in Japanese about complex medical issues).

You might be able to sidestep some of the language issues if you could find work at a clinic that primarily provides services to the non-Japanese expat community in Japan. However, such jobs are few and far between, and you would still need to obtain any necessary certifications through tests that would be in Japanese.
