Is Suzumiya an actual surname?

Is Suzumiya - { a real Japanese surname? I only see results related the character Haruhi, or a bunch of Chinese results, but not much that shows this is a real name. Is this something the writers made up or is it just not a popular name?

As far as I can look up on google in Japanese, a surname that is read gSuzumiyah exists in real life, and it is written as {.
The surname you refer to about Haruhi is read the same, but is written {, and this surname does not exist in real life but is used in stories/comics and as a pen name.
