Jizokura in Yamagata prefecture

Hello, I am planning my third trip to Tohoku, as it's my favourite region in Japan, but it's becoming difficult to find new places to go!

I was on the "most beautiful towns in Japan" website and I found a small temple called Jizokuka, between the town of Ookura and Hijiori Onsen. It's nested in the mountain, and I can only immagine the view from there!

Is there any bus from Shinjo, Obanazawa or Tsuruoka that goes on that road where I can take the path to the temple?

Well there seem to be direct busses from Shinjo to Hijiori onsen.

I haven�ft searched long enough, but I guess it is likely that it continues to the next village as well. However a stop between the two villages might be harder.

you could use the bus to hijiori onsen (some rykans there have the access systems / timeplans listed, e.g. https://www.oyado-daikokuya.com/accss.html (or let you pick up, in case you stay there))

from there it is about half an hour per feet to the temple.
