Working remote Japan job overseas 2021/5/4 15:24
Hi all,

My job in Japan is currently remote, and will likely stay that way until the end of the year or more. Just wondering if immigration would care if I left the country for 3-6 months (currently on a business visa). When I return to Japan, is this something they might question or care about? Obviously nothing else would change, my job is based in Japan and I would be paying taxes in Japan.

3-6 months, fairly short time out of the country - I can't see why Immigration would be interested in that. More than 6 months you ight have tax issues. More than a year, might have other implications.
I am assuming you are keeping your residence in Japan.

Immigration will only care if you left the country for more than one year without a re-entry permit. Or better: you would lose your status of residence in that case.
