Identify signature and artist

I have an old Japanese canvas painting of a peacock dating from 1952.
There is a signature.
Could anyone advise how I would go about finding a translation of the signature and where to find out more about the artist?

Post a picture of it here. Anyone who can read Japanese should be able to provide you with a name so you can research the artist yourself. Though there is no guarantee there will be much (or any) information out there on them in English.
