Kochi City - My Yu Bus Pass

Has anyone had experience using the My Yu bus service in Kochi City?
My understanding is that you need to purchase a bus pass beforehand to use it. Does it have to be purchased on the same day, or can it be purchased beforehand and activated on the day which you want to use it (similar to the bus pass in Kyoto)?

Kochi my Yu Bus pass cost 1 day=1000 yen, 2day=1600 yen, godaisan 1 day ticket=
600 yen foreigners can get 50 percent off normal price.you can ride tram 200 yen fare zone for free by Yu bus pass
