I've got this canvas, looks really cool, but I cannot find out what it means. I'm getting nowhere with guides and google translate. Thanks in advance.

First, do you know that image is upside down.
And the writing itself look odd, I think?

Yes, definitely up side down and the writing looks not too well executed. Specially the 月 part looks more a 夕 with one line too much.
I am sure the person how painted it meant well, but unfortunately the execution of the calligraphy isnt very good.

it is upside-down, and it seems to be this:

In Japanese it (by itself) is read "nozomi," meaning "hope," "wish," and it can be a given name (usually female).
