Any advice on where to stay on Hateruma?
Am thinking of something like a minshuku or guesthouse.
I'm easy to please.

Depends on how much you want to pay.....
I stayed at Uminchu no Ie and paid 49€ including breakfast!!
It's not too central, to Residence of Niimori (3.2 km) und Funauki Village (3.4 km).
Close to the beach (1.8km) is the Guest House Nami, much cheaper.
Have a good time.

Have booked a cheap place near the beach. Found the phone number online.
Tides permitting, all looks good. Can't wait.
