Chain strap allowed on airplanes

International flight with American Airlines from Japan to the US. I have one carry one and one person item. My personal item is a person with a large chain strap. See photo link below. Is this allowed on airplanes? I remember a long time ago chain straps weren't allowed into concerts. I know it's unrelated, but want to be sure. https://img-static.tradesy.com/item/26740522/victoria-s-secret-shoulde...

I see no reason for not allowing this on board. This is just a handbag. If it is not allowed, then no handbags with a strap should be allowed on board (and that would be ridiculous). However I think it would be better to contact directly the airline you will be flying with. They know better.
